When AI Becomes The Attacker

When AI Becomes The Attacker

The ebook argues that AI makes cyberattacks faster, cheaper, more persistent, and better at chaining weaknesses together. But AI still depends on familiar security gaps such as vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, excessive privileges, exposed services, credentials, and weak controls. SecPod’s experiment showed that AI could keep adapting and searching for attack paths, but in a hardened environment it struggled because the exploitable conditions had been removed. The main takeaway is that security must move from periodic scanning to continuous exposure remediation and always-on prevention. The PREVENT framework supports this through continuous visibility, normalization, exposure detection, contextual prioritization, remediation, verification, and continuous assurance.
